Memorial Tree Program

Honor a cherished neighbor or loved one with a living tribute in Northdale.

Over 50 Trees Planted Since 1995

Longtime Northdale neighbors can be remembered by friends and family with the planting of a memorial tree. Sponsored by the Northdale Neighborhood Association since 1995, more than 50 trees have been planted in memory of residents. Those who wish to plant a tree can receive matching funds from the NNA.
Many of the trees are planted in the Northdale Boulevard median. At a planting ceremony, loved ones gather, share stories about the person being remembered, and help plant the tree with a commemorative name tag.
In October 2025, neighbors from the Briarwood Avenue – Willow Lane neighborhood planted a Japanese Lilac in memory of longtime resident Eleanor Vance. If interested in the Memorial Tree Program, reach out to the NNA's Beautification Committee.
